IN deference to the suggestions which he has received from many quarters, the Author has consented to the publication of a popular Edition of his work on the Psalms. The great bulk of the critical matter contained in the original work has been omitted in this: but in other respects little change has been made either in the text or in the notes. It is hoped that in its present form the book may be more accessible to many English readers, and that it will help to the more accurate.
